Coventry Council election, 2012
Elections for Coventry City Council will next be held on Thursday, 3 May 2012. This is the same day as other United Kingdom local elections, 2012. As the council is elected by thirds, one seat in each of the wards will be up for election.
The election will coincide with a local referendum on whether to have an elected mayor.[1]
Confirmed candidates
The Labour Party have selected Maya Ali, a former Conservative, to stand in Westwood Ward against sitting Conservative councillor Marcus Lapsa.[2]
Conservative councillor Gary Ridley will be standing down from his seat in Sherbourne ward.[3]
